Mt. Everest
Well this Thanksgiving R mountain wasn't going to cut it for our annual Turkey Day hike so I decided to climb Mt. Everest, according to Dr. Meridith. We did the natural thing and it produced a beautiful experience that I'm sure my sisters will never forget:) My mom was there through the whole thing and I cant imagine doing it with out her encouragement and support and fun games! Conrad was A-maz-ING! There was a point when I wanted an epidural SO freaking bad and he knew that it was too late, He was SO good at helping me through the transition phase. Not to mention Dr. M let Conrad help deliver Reese! It was really an amazing experience and I loved that Conrad was so much a part of the whole process.

Heart to Heart
While delivering, my heart apparently thought I was running a marathon and decided to jump to over 200 BPM. They put me on oxygen and hooked me up to 3 different EKGs during the day to monitor my heart. The Dr. felt more comfortable to keep me on the med surg floor and so I didn't get to stay with Reese the first night:( It is so hard to let the nurses keep your new baby and be 2 floors away... After a day at home they wanted to do a ultrasound on my heart and gave me a super neat heart monitor to wear at home for 48 hrs. After all the tests the Dr.s think that it is stressed related and I should be good to go! Lets cross our fingers. But here is a pict of me all hooked up at home:)

A note from Conrad:
911
I thought after 3 1/2 years of parenting that I had the basics down. However Reese decided to humble us. We'd been home from the hospital for 2 hours, yep 2 hours and had just changed her diaper. Me and Nana were sitting around her watching her while Jam took a much deserved nap, she was amazing. Reese spit up a little bit but we didn't see anything come out. I thought at first: that's weird. Then Nana said "Con I don't think shes breathing"...to my horror she wasn't. I picked her up and started patting her back trying to clear her airway but it wasn't working, her lips turned blue and I turned to Nana frantically asking what do I do. I kept patting her back and Nana went to the neighbors to find help and call 911. The blue lips eventually became a blue face and body then her eyes rolled back in her head. There I was holding our brand new little girl and she was lifeless...the neighbors came running in and didn't really know what to do either I keep patting her back and turned her over and could tell she was getting a little air cause her color was coming back. A few more pats to the back and the sweetest sound I've ever heard was Reese crying. Jam woke up to a room full of paramedics and police officers examining her newborn. That's never good for the heart. Needless to say we didn't sleep at all the next two nights. I still enjoy hearing her cry cause I know shes breathing.
