Tips for a Road Trip

Hum... when us Hilton's take road trips we mean business. I mean a 24 hour (NON-STOP, except for gas of course) road trip to Nashville. Its more like crazy business that we do this. But seriously driving 24 hours no matter how you break it up is not fun. And actually it will be 25 hrs and 10 min because we have to detour to get around the tornadoes that are brewing in OKC. SO today I told Conrad that I'm over prepared for this road trip. Is this possible? We shall see. This will be our 9th over 24 hour non stop road trip. I told you we mean business!

I chatted with my grandma who happens to be a road trip aficionado. And she gave me all these wing dinger ideas.

1. Give the kids each their own little box. Put in some smelly pens, tablet, crackers, stickers and such.
2. Give them their own water bottle.
3. Give them a gift every 2 hrs or when a big city is coming.
4. Gift ideas, Scripture Scouts to listen to the scriptures in a fun fashion, tiny puzzle, glow balls, capsules that turn into sponge animals, pop rocks, jelly stickers, squirt guns (thanks mom!), glow sticks for when it gets dark, brush and fake hair, silly putty with news print so make copies and colors. I also put in no spill bubbles and the kids LOVED these.

I packaged them up in a Manila envelope or if it was too bulky I put it in a draw string bag (thanks Jill!)
 5. Put a map covered in clear contact paper and have the kids put stickers on all the states you drive through. I added a tiny car that they can drive too!
