Preschool February week 1

 Preschool Curriculum

February

Topic: Courage

Post and recite daily: Daring to attempt difficult things that are good. Strength not to follow the crowd, to say no and mean it and influence others by it. Being true and following good impulses even when they are unpopular or inconvenient. Boldness to be outgoing and friendly.

Game to play: Fingers. Write the first letter of what that child is good at on his finger. So take his pinky and say, “You are an amazing big brother to Elle.” I would write a B on his pinky and move to the next finger. Write a letter on each finger. MY KIDS LOVE THIS.

Roll Play looking people in the eyes. Have a conversation while looking into their eyes.

Starring contest:)

Value Song: Dare to do right (pg158) , Stand for the Right (pg159)

Stories: Libraries of Hope: Stories that Teach Values (Courage chapters). Read the same story for a week. Maybe craft about it or draw pictures. Crew started a Values Book and paints his story each week we me.

Parenting Hack:

Praise any attempts at courage (trying new food, making a new friend, attempting a new activity)

Explain that we all get nervous and our heart pounds fast but we can do hard things still.

Remember you can’t overpraise- That came right from Linda herself:)

Weather Walk (all weather)

Circle time: Calendar (Good and Beautiful days of the week and month songs), value story, value song, math (February: numbers or stay on patterns)

Playtime

Activity: cut veggies, CES bread making, quinoa bowls, craft

Quiet time
